![]() What’s the difference between a living being and a corpse? In my opinion, this seemingly obvious answer deserves a little exploring. A newly deceased corpse may very well have all its body parts still intact (brain, heart, lungs, etc.) but is missing a key element that a living being possesses. A corpse will not sweat, breathe, move, heal a cut or perform any functions any more because there is no life force present. Whether we choose to call it an energy, force, intelligence, wisdom, or anything else, there is no denying the fact that something immaterial distinguishes life from death. There is an inborn wisdom present in all living beings that is responsible for the trillions of processes that occur for a person to sustain and express life. A few of these include heartbeat, hormone production, elimination of wastes, filtering of blood, creation of new cells to replace old ones and breathing. The incredible thing is that this wisdom controls and coordinates all of these functions without us even having to even think about them. Chiropractors refer to this life force or wisdom as the body’s innate intelligence. It is this same intelligence that is responsible for transforming a sperm and egg cell into a baby over the course of 9 months (something we couldn’t control or do even if we tried). So what does this intelligence utilize to perform the trillions of processes to sustain life? That’s where the nervous system (also nicknamed the body’s master control system) comes into play. The brain sends signals over the spinal cord and nerves to all the body’s cells, tissues and organs to direct and control every bodily function. In the same way, the body parts use the nerves and spinal cord to relay information back to the brain to allow us to adapt to our environments. Do you think it’s a good idea to actively take care of this master control system? As a Chiropractor, so do I! Chiropractors remove interference to the nervous system by adjusting and removing vertebral subluxations (slight spinal misalignments that cause nerve tension and interference). These subluxations usually occur with no signs and symptoms and always cause your body to function at less than 100%, which is never a good thing. By reducing and removing these subluxations, Chiropractors remove interference to your body’s inborn wisdom or life force, and allow it to better do its job of running your body. Chiropractic is all about your LIFE and allowing for a greater expression of it! Give your body a better chance to perform and function up to its potential in all areas by making Chiropractic a part of your healthy routine. Brent Vuyovich, Chiropractor
